Damian A. Alksnis
Forensic Accountant
Damian joined MG Forensics in 2000 and previously was involved in the investment industry with a large brokerage.
Damian holds bachelor degree from the University of Ottawa and completed his Certified Management Accounting designation in 2002.
He has experience in accounting, financial analysis, securities investigations, litigation support, insurance claims and securities/trust investigations. His experience in litigation includes calculation of economic loss for investments, breach of contract, bankruptcy and matrimonial and estate disputes.
Insurance assignments include the calculation of losses and preparation of reports as well as review of other party submissions. Work in the insurance field includes business interruption claims, income replacement benefit calculations as well as claims stemming from theft of goods.
Damian has conducted detailed forensic audits of businesses intended to detect the unauthorized movement of funds or other company assets. He has conducted financial and trend analysis intended to detect incidents of theft, fraud or other manipulations of investment accounts and financial statements.
Damian has conducted training seminars that identified red flags associated with potentially fraudulent claims.
